The City of Uvalde, Texas is accepting applications for Police Officer. Uvalde, population 16,507, is located in the Texas Hill Country River Region. Surrounded by beautiful rivers and such historical sights such as Garner State Park, Lost Maples, and Lake Amistad, Uvalde offers adventurous fishing and hunting outdoor activities with a hometown atmosphere. Uvalde offers a school district known for its academic and athletic achievement.
Salary: $34,507 after probationary period. Excellent benefits package including health, dental, vision and life for employees and families at low rates. Vacation, sick leave, TMRS retirement. Four days on – three days off (10 hour shifts), overtime, SWAT Team, OCU Proactive Team, off-duty security work and great training opportunities. Weapons, leather gear, body armor and uniforms provided.
Applicants must pass a written exam, oral interview, physical and psychological exams, drug screening and extensive background investigation (medical exam costs provided). Applicant must hold a Basic Peace Officer TCLEOSE certification.
